Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of TurnMail (“we”, “us”, “our”, “the Service”). By creating an account or using TurnMail, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.

1. About TurnMail

TurnMail is an email application designed to provide simplified, fast, read-focused access to your inbox. The Service enables you to view, search, and listen to your messages, including through Drive Mode and text-to-speech features.

TurnMail does not replicate the full functionality of your email provider and does not support destructive actions such as deleting or moving emails.

2. Safety and Responsible Use

TurnMail includes features intended to support safer use while travelling, such as Drive Mode and audio-only playback. However, it remains your responsibility to use the Service legally and sensibly.

By using TurnMail, you agree that:

  • You will comply with all local road and traffic laws.
  • You will not use TurnMail in a manner that distracts you from safe vehicle operation.
  • You will only use Drive Mode or audio-only features when travelling.
  • You accept full responsibility for your own safety when using the Service.

TurnMail accepts no liability for accidents, injuries, damages, or legal consequences resulting from unsafe or illegal use.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use TurnMail. By signing up, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

4. Your Account

You are responsible for:

  • Keeping your login credentials secure
  • All activity performed through your account
  • Ensuring the information you provide is accurate

If you suspect unauthorised access, you must notify us promptly at support@turnmail.com.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, misuse the Service, or engage in unlawful activity.

5. Email Access and Permissions

TurnMail connects to your email account so that we can display and process your messages. The connection method may vary depending on your provider and may include secure industry-standard methods (such as OAuth) or credential-based access (such as IMAP).

Depending on the connection type you use:

  • TurnMail may store encrypted credentials necessary to maintain your connection.
  • TurnMail may periodically access your messages to provide search, loading, and audio features.
  • You may revoke access at any time within TurnMail or through your email provider’s security settings.

We only access the minimum level of data required to provide the Service.

6. Data Storage and Retention

To deliver TurnMail’s core features, we may temporarily store:

  • Message metadata (such as sender, subject, timestamps and labels)
  • Email content for up to 60 days
  • Encrypted connection credentials where necessary (for example, for IMAP access)
  • Temporary audio created for text-to-speech, which is deleted shortly after use

Content that you mark as “purged” is securely deleted and overwritten.

We do not sell or share the content of your emails.

For full details, please refer to our Privacy Policy.

7. Prohibited Use

You must not use TurnMail:

  • For any unlawful or harmful purpose
  • To access or attempt to access email accounts you do not own
  • To interfere with or disrupt the Service
  • To copy, reverse engineer or misuse the platform
  • To circumvent or attempt to bypass security measures

Violation of this section may result in immediate account suspension or termination.

8. Service Availability

We aim to provide reliable and consistent access to TurnMail, but we do not guarantee:

  • Uninterrupted service
  • Error-free operation
  • Compatibility with all devices or configurations

We may temporarily restrict access for maintenance, updates, or security measures.

9. Payments and Subscriptions

If you subscribe to a paid plan:

  • Fees are processed through our payment provider
  • Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled
  • Price changes will be communicated in advance
  • Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period

Refunds are not provided for partial billing cycles unless required by law.

10. Intellectual Property

All content, design, code, branding, and features within TurnMail are owned by us or licensed to us. You must not copy, distribute, or modify any part of the Service unless expressly permitted.

11. Third-Party Services

TurnMail may rely on third-party systems to operate, including:

  • Email providers
  • Hosting and infrastructure partners
  • Text-to-speech providers

Only the minimal information required for a given feature will be shared with a third party, and only for the purpose of delivering that feature.

We are not responsible for the performance or policies of third-party providers.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis
  • We do not guarantee the accuracy, availability, or reliability of the Service
  • We are not liable for loss of data, inability to access email, or compatibility issues
  • We are not liable for any damages, injuries, or legal outcomes arising from unsafe or illegal use of the Service

Nothing in these Terms limits liability where it cannot legally be excluded.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if:

  • You breach these Terms
  • You misuse or abuse the Service
  • We are required to do so by law

You may stop using TurnMail at any time. You may request account deletion by contacting support@turnmail.com.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When material changes occur, we will notify you by email or within the app. Continued use of the Service after changes are published indicates acceptance.
